Normally I’d choose the items most people have but not this time, in most situations I would be bug-out, leaving the situation but in this scenario I’m arriving, bugging-in. Bugging-out I’d choose the tarp for its light weight. I’m not going to carry it much so I’m choosing the tent. The tent provides in this situation resources the tarp does not: netting for fish nets, maybe, poles for a fishing pole and cordage from its ties. I will take the knife. Again I’m staying put so weight is not a factor so I’m choosing the boat. The boat could improve my fishing capabilities. It also might have oars I can use as a shovel, hammer or club. It might also contain a life vest I also might use to extend my time fishing. I’m going to skip the pot and cook oven style, by broiling and roasting instead. I’m going to pick the gun because it has at least two magnifying lenses in it that I can use to start fires. If water is not available on the island I’ll be domed so a few days of filtered water may make little difference. Collecting rain water might be possible using the tent and boat. The tent floor I can use as a cloth bucket to carry things, like water. It’s also possible the tent could be used as a large water distiller. In short I will need on this island as many resources as I can get.?

Ed Schernau you might want to prioritise that a bit cutting, cover, combustion, container, cordage. On a jungle island you should be able to work out most of that if you have a knife and a saw…the rest is gravy.
The choice I made is based that I don’t get to keep my EDC in my fanny pack. If I get to keep what’s on my body from wakeup to sleep then I’ll take the tarp, hammock, fishing pole and inflatable boat.
Wilson! Wiiiiiilsooon! Seriously though, a tarp for shelter and improvised carrying, rope for its many uses such as breaking it down into smaller strands, a knife for its versatility, and finally matches because I’m not confident in making fire without a flame. Many of the other items on the list could be crafted or improvised from these essential items.
Raft, compass, flare for heading out of the island. And weed for stamina.
I would pick
knife
first aid
matches
hunting rifle
unless I was by a lake/river then it would be a fish pole
Orion Thrower I could also assume my island is a ice block in the arctic. ?
Frankly, sight unseen, all I can do is assume……… (Shrug)
